Coreopsis 'Jethro Tull'
There are plenty of new coreopsis varieties introduced every year but 'Jethro Tull' seems to tolerate out typically hot humid summers better than most. The fluted golden yellow flower petals are large and showy. And 'Jethro Tull' will bloom from early summer until frost with minimal dead heading and is a good choice for beginners. Sunny spots, 15- 18 inches tall.

Coreopsis 'Tequila Sunrise'
This variegated coreopsis really holds it's 2 toned leaf color of cream and yellow. Foliage is tinged with pink early in the season. Daisy like yellow flowers have red eye and bloom well all season, especially is dead headed occasionally. sunny sites, 14-16 inches tall.

Coneflower Big Sky 'Harvest Moon'
'Harvest Moon' sports large golden orange flowers that hold their color well all season. They are slightly fragrant and like the sunny warm weather of mid to late summer. 18-24 inches. Gold flowers the color of a harvest moon with a golden orange cone. Plant it up close where you can enjoy its delightful rose-like fragrance. Coneflowers like it sunny and hot. 18 to 24 inches.

Coneflower Big Sky 'Sundown'
"Sundown' reminds me of a warm tropical orangey- pink sunset. Most of these new coneflowers need a few years to get established before blooming heavily. They all prefer sunny well-drained sites especially over the winter months. Slightly fragrant. 32 to 40 inches tall.

Coneflower 'Pixie Meadowbright'
'Pixie Meadowbright ' is small in stature but mighty in flower power. Only 18-20 inches tall, this coneflower is perfect for a pot or small garden. Bright pink flowers have an orange cone. We've watch this plant bloom in the greenhouse well into late September.

Dianthus 'Shooting Star'
Dianthus has attractive blue-green foliage , a compact mounding habit and flower that bloom almost non stop all summer. 'Shooting Star' has performed exceptionally well for us here at the nursery blooming well into fall. Spicy clove scented magenta flowers. Sunny sites, good drainage, 6-7 inches tall.

Gaillardia 'Goblin'
'Goblin' is an oldie but a goodie. It's been around for years but still is one of our best selling hot sun loving perennials. Bright red petals have sunny yellow tips. Low maintenance and easy to grow, a good one for beginners. Butterflies dig this colorful 10-12 inch mounding plant.

Bee Balm 'Gardenview Scarlet'
"Gardenview Scarlet' bee balm is a true hummingbird magnet. The scarlet red trumpet shaped flowers provide nectar for 6-8 weeks during mid to late summer. Bee balm tends to spread so be prepared to give it space to roam. Great for a naturalized wildflower area or the back of a border. 2-3 ft tall and sunny, slightly moist sites are ideal.

When a small hummingbird perennial is needed, you can't beat "Petite Delight.' Loads of pinkish-purple nectar producing flowers sit atop a 12-15 in mound. 'Petite Delight' is attractive with yellow flower like 'Moonbeam' coreopsis, Stella de Oro daylilies or "Mesa Yellow' gaillardia.

Monarda 'Coral Reef'
A fun new color in Bee Balm. True coral colored trumpet flowers provide the hummingbirds with nectar in mid summer for 6-8 weeks. Monarda is native to eastern North America, so it is easy to grow and it multiplies quickly. "Coral Reef' is not quite as aggressive as some older varieties, so it's a bit more behaved in the mixed border. 30-36 inches, sunny slightly moist soil is the best growing conditions.
