TRUDY'S CURIOS

Trudy's Curios are the plants we are curious about. Most are relatively new garden introductions. The verdict is still out on the newer coneflowers as far as flower color fastness, plant vigor and winter hardiness.

Long lasting as a cut flower, and attractive to butterflies. Flowers abound in early summer, then continue until frost. 24 in tall.

Coreopsis - Redshift

The red petals are streaked and shot with yellow as well, and no two blooms will look just alike.' Unlike other red flowered Coreopsis, "Redshift" is very cold hardy, surviving winters as far north as zone 4.

Jacob's Ladder 'Touch of Class'
This finely textured perennial has delicate lacy foliage that forms a low mound. The leaves are green with a narrow, bright white edge. From late spring to early summer pink buds open to reveal small, very pale blue flowers. After it is finished blooming, the plant may need to be cut back to allow for a fresh flush of foliage. Cool moist soil with afternoon shade is best. 14 in tall.

Phlox 'David's Lavender'
Enormous heads of fragrant, lavender pink flowers from mid to late summer. The bright green foliage and sturdy constitution make this plant beautiful even when it's not in bloom. Trials have shown this variety to be one of the most powdery mildew resistant to date. Sun loving. 42 in tall.
